Hello everybody…….. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reviewing all the projects and hope that you all gained something from the discussion.
As I listened to the episodes, I realized comments and elements in many pieces that we didn’t bring up. For instance, Christa’s inlay work was discussed, but we didn’t bring it up in the episode, also, I wanted to bring up “Cubism” with the Coaches use of grain direction and again missed it. All in all it was pretty good.
One last thing………….early on; as this internet woodworking took hold, I was a huge advocate for challenges. They have now gotten too big on most forums and lessons are lost. I have altered my position and completely support the smaller challenges (such as this one) so discussion can add knowledge to the depth of ones woodworking.
I know I mentioned this during the episode, but as a requirement to judge, Rick required that I also build a desk organizer. Mine is complete and the plan is to discuss the object on a podcast, as soon as schedules match up.
When the episode is posted, I want to encourage all of you to critique my desk organizer. That would complete the value of the Saw Dust Challenge.
Again, I want to thank Rick for all his work organizing and all your efforts that allowed me to be a part of something a bit different and therefore special.
Neil
